In high school I used to hear a lot of boys talking about this book, and I thought that it must only be interesting to them. It is now clear to me that literary snobbery is there even in high school.
I think it really helped having read the whole set of books before I watched all of the "Lord of the Rings" movies. I already had come to know the characters and didn't have to base my perogative on reading it based on the characters portrayed in the movies. ...more

Always a good read, I have read the hobbit several times and never fail to enjoy it.
