This was a reread for the Read Harder Challenge, category: An assigned book you hated or didn’t finish.
I hated this when I read it in high school - it was one of those reads in school where we didn’t study it together in class, but rather it was a book from a list that we had to read on our own and take a multiple choice quiz on to get points, etc. So I haven’t “studied” the text in any way.
I decided to listen to the audio this time to see if it improved my opinion.

Oh wow. What an emotionally intense book! Lots of metaphors, but basically the story is about a guy who is longing to repeat his past - and can't cope with the reality that it is impossible! I like the way the story revealed, but I'm not sure about the ending though. It is too much for me. Anyway, I can't wait to see the movie though. Mr. DiCaprio would be perfecto as the Great Gatsby :)
