What can I say? It was amazing. It was one of those books that took your breath away, even though there were moments in the book that I honestly really didn't feel should have been apart of the book, but when reading it, one realizes that it does have to be apart of the book, especially towards the end of the book. A great story, but the unabridged version gets four stars. Hugo frequently takes breaks from the story to rant on his thoughts about politics, religion, battle tactics, city planning, etc. and those were the parts I didn't really care for. Jean Valjean's constant struggle to do what is right rather than what makes him happy is inspiring. Now I really need to see the play!
