The idea that Capote created an entirely new genre with this book is entirely fascinating, and it really does read with the intriguing details of non-fiction, combined with the page-turning characteristics of a novel.
The fact that Capote can actually elicit sympathy within the reader for these brutal criminals is nothing short of masterful.
I can (and have!) read this book over and over. Even if you don't necessarily love the story, the techincality of his writing is worth the read. ...more
