Yawn. A friend made this quote about this book: "Just goes to show what happens when you write fanfiction and your parents are publishers." Amen, my friend. This book was boring as all get out and managed to be cliche to the extreme while also completely ripping off Pern and MiddleEarth in an insulting way.
