In the beginning, this started out as two different stories with two different points of view. It was a little hard keeping them straight since I was listening to the audio book version and there was no clear indication that the chapter changed perspective. However, once the two stories crossed, it became much easier to follow.

I'm not fond of star ratings--they allow so little room for a true opinion. I've given four stars to much finer literature and prettier writing, so considered three, but frankly I was more hooked to this and thoroughly enjoyed it. Maybe 3 1/2 would be best. Anyway, the original title, "Men Who Hate Women," would have been more accurate (while the "girl" referred to in the title is a main character, she is not the central focus), and it makes for subject matter that may not be for everyone. I picked this book up at my hotel in Istanbul, only because I'd read the others and those which I hadn't, were in Turkish. I had never come across this title before, didn't know the hype that surrounded it, nor did I know it was part of a popular series. So it was refreshing to just pick up a book and get into it without checking it out here and gauging other reader reviews.
