The first half of the book was painfully slow. I had such a difficult time getting into it that I was strongly tempted to give up on it. I stuck with it, and am glad I did. Once it got going, it totallly sucked me in. The violence in the book was hard to take, but the mysteries were fascinating.

This book totally fascinated me and I could not stop reading. I thought the story was really interesting and enjoyed seeing how the loose threads were tied together, often only to create a new direction for the plot. Sometimes it seemed that the characters weren't completely formed, and I wish I knew a little more about Sweden so I could get some of the references, but all in all I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to pick up the second in the trilogy.

Lots of people have commented that this started out really slow, and it was the same for me. I never really thought about giving up on it, though, and I'm really glad I kept at it. About halfway through, I realized that I didn't want to stop reading. It was really heart pumping!

I really enjoyed this book- an engaging, easy read. definitely a beach or vacation read, but I'm excited to read the next in the series. a little bit disturbing at times, but overall entertaining.
