I was hoping this would somehow redeem Boxers, but it did not. I was equally disappointed in this one. Actually, I was MORE disappointed in this one. This shows the "Christian side" of the Boxer rebellion, and the Christians are literally saints here, they don't do a thing wrong, they are unjustly persecuted and slaughtered, all for the crime of trying to live in China. These two volumes (Boxers and Saints) give readers two opposing viewpoints of the historic Boxer Rebellion in China. If you are expecting these to be comparable to Yang 's American Born Chinese in tone and reading experience...think again. This set is much darker.
