Okay, I didn’t expect this book to stomp on my heart. But the book just draws you in and makes you feel for these characters. I also wasn’t expecting it to be set in 1987, but I feel like that made an impact on everything. I just really loved the characters and seeing Aristotle find himself.
This book is set in my hometown, El Paso, however that is not the only reason I enjoyed it. Ari is a teenage boy who pushes many people away. His brother is in prison and his parents never talk about him. He meets Dante, a sweet kid who loves his parents. This is shocking to Ari, as he doesn’t share his feelings for others and finds it odd that a fellow teenager would so readily admit to loving his parents.
