I should have written this review earlier, just after reading the book. It was such a rich tale, sometimes confusing, that I'm no longer sure what to say about it. Gaiman was born in England but I believe lives in Wisconsin now, and has a good eye and ear for all our American foibles and contradictions. If you want a better analysis, read Jon's review. I do recommend this book to anyone who is not afraid of fantasy.

I like the weird and the supernatural and the crazy but for some reason I just couldn't give this Gaiman book even a three! I don't think I laughed a lot while reading this one, maybe the jokes were too American for me to follow, I don't know. And looks like I'm echoing a few other reviewers here in wondering, what really was the point of the whole charade?!
