Excellent writing and well drawn characters. Great story about a man caught in an unexpected situation, his reactions and their consequences on his life and the lives of others. One of the best I've read in a long time! Would be excellent for discussion.

Really about a 3.5 - 3 for my personal tastes, but a 4 as a book group read because it provokes lots of interesting discussion (guilt, morality, character, spirituality, and man's capacity for violence are some of the themes). Interesting
