Quite the page-turner, this one. At the beginning of the book, it is made clear that someone has been murdered, and I became increasingly impatient to find out who the victim was as the story unfolded. Additionally, domestic abuse, bullying, and "mean-girl" school moms play a big part in the plot.

Definitely wouldn't have been my first choice, but that's the nice thing about book clubs right? Oddly enough, I got sucked into it, enjoying the pace and the twists and turns of how everything wove back and forth, overlapping here and there.

I thought this novel was just another chick lit easy, breezy read. Boy, was I wrong! This novel has so much - comedy, mystery, social consciousness. I absolutely loved it! I'm looking forward to seeing how HBO handles the story with their upcoming series.

Yes, it is kind of chick-litty (when one of your protagonists wears name brand stilettos, it's not exactly high-brow literature), but Moriarty's novel deals with some pretty deep issues.
