Shelves: thriller

The story starts with a murder investigation and then jumps backward to gradually reveal the murder, the victim, and how their paths collide.

The story is set in an idyllic seaside town where conflicts and secrets roil beneath the calm surface. There are lots of characters, but three women are at the core—Madeline, Celeste, and Jane. Madeline is brash and bold, dealing with an ex husband who moves too nearby with his much-younger second wife. Celeste is beautiful and rich, but oddly timid. Jane ...more

Definitely wouldn't have been my first choice, but that's the nice thing about book clubs right? Oddly enough, I got sucked into it, enjoying the pace and the twists and turns of how everything wove back and forth, overlapping here and there.

It was an easy read, a fun story, and interesting. I don't know if it goes as far as the credits say on the cover of the book, but at the same time, it's still interesting. ...more

Another hit by Liane Moriarty! I enjoyed the characters in this story...and couldn't put this down until I uncovered all the secrets! The book was well written with just little tidbits of truth, or conjecture, being revealed throughout the book. I enjoy Moriarty's writing style and how she nails so many truths of motherhood. ...more
