i picked this up on our last trip to K-mart before taking a family vacation to california when i was 14 or 15. for two weeks i was enthralled with the characters and story. i still have the copy on my shelf - the gateway king book for me!
i reread the unabridged version upon graduating high school. at one point the dates of the chapters coincided with reality. i remember some days i would jump when ever someone would sneeze or cough. that's awesome writing when the words on a page can make a person think twice about what is going on around them.
