Only my second Stephen King book, after reading Misery last year. I was pleasantly surprised by how engaging a page-turner I found Misery to be, but I didn't have the same experience with Carrie. It picked up in the second half, but the style of alternating between the story in the present and articles talking about it from years later really kept me from getting invested. ...more

Ahhh...early Stephen King. I first read this when I was in middle school and it scared the crap out of me.

Carrie is a teenaged girl who gets bullied at school. When some popular kids play an unbelievably cruel and gross joke on her, Carrie gets her revenge.
