One of my top four favorite King novels. If you pay attention you will see how King's stories were interwoven from the very beginning. Both the book and the movie scared the crap out of me back in the day. (and still do today really)

Ahhh...early Stephen King. I first read this when I was in middle school and it scared the crap out of me.
Carrie is a teenaged girl who gets bullied at school. When some popular kids play an unbelievably cruel and gross joke on her, Carrie gets her revenge.

I've never actually read Stephen King before, so I'm not sure if this reflects his style, but wow, was this book boring! While I will say the life he described for Carrie was horrific, there was nothing scary about this book, largely because it flip-flopped between the plot as it was happening and excerpts of reports and books about the "Carrie White incident." These insets took away any build up in the action and it was a bit of a slough to get through it.
