A quick-reading quintet of fairy tales set in the wizarding world, essentially bedtime stories for young wizards that can be enjoyed by Muggles as well. Beedle, with the assistance of Dumbledore, Hermione Granger, and J.K. Rowling, imparts life lessons in his tales, and while the concepts might be abstract for young minds, the creativity with which they are delivered may make them stick in the long run.

I enjoyed both the other charity shorts JKR has released before so I fully expected this one to be just as much fun and I wasn't disappointed. What I always loved most about the HP books was the detail of the world she created; all the side characters, historial events, published works, etc. This book just serves to flesh out the world even further, which is great by me.

It was 2000 when I first read Harry Potter. My friend Super Suz recommended the series to me but I put off reading it for ages. I wasn’t into reading much young adult stuff back then and my argument for not reading them was that I wasn’t interested in reading children’s book. How book-snobbish of me.

I would actually give this a 3.5. This is a short book, consisting of some wizard folktales, with commentary by Albus Dumbledore and references to a few of the other Harry Potter characters. I loved being back in that world for a short time, but it's not the same, of course, as reading one of the HP books. There are references that I know I should understand, but I don't remember the details that they point to.

A collection of tales by Beedle the Bard, newly translated by Hermione Granger. Notes from Albus Dumbledore and J.K. Rowling herself are an added treat. "The Fountain of Fair Fortune" was my favorite. A must read for fans of Harry Potter and/or fairy tales, for wizards and muggles alike.

Cute little fairy tales (with notes from Albus Dumbledore) that wizards and Muggles can enjoy alike. This book made me nostalgic for the Harry Potter books.

Entertaining. I'd have to read it multiple times before I could start telling wizarding fairy tales to my kids though ;) Fun little addition to the HP world.

The illustrations could've been better and the stories work overs of Aesop but I can't resist more Harry Potter. I was more interested in the notes along the stories than the actual stories.
