Really well done, intricately plotted, impossible to put down. This one isn't so much scary as thoughtful. I loved the way King characterizes teachers - he shows so much respect!

The ending is very poignant.

This enormous book had my rapt attention for nearly a month. It reads pretty fast, so don't be overwhelmed by the size. Stephen King is a genius, but we all know that. There are a few chapters in the middle that drag a bit, but overall it was just so good!

This was compelling but not dense, with sturdy, workmanlike writing - not beautiful, but very well told. I would have edited the 849 pages down to about 700, but I was glad to have a long book to get lost in. The time travel aspect was fascinating, and more than a week later I still find myself still thinking back on the book. My first Stephen King book, and I'm impressed

This book made ME want to go down the rabbit-hole... but I wouldn't stay long or cause any butterfly effects, especially since women in the 1950's got no respect. I'd like to see the past in person though. ...more
