I read about 60 pages and that was enough to know I didn't like the book. ...more

I really wanted to love this book. I have been a fan of The Wizard of Oz all my life and I enjoy fairy tale retellings, especially the ones that cast the villain in a sympathetic light (ie, Donna Jo Napoli).

Very interesting. I finished this book a few days ago and have been stewing about what to think…what to write. I liked it based on its originality, cleverness, characters, and readability. I picked this book up and began it a long time ago but I couldn't finish it. I tried two more times to get through but I couldn't get into the story at all. I kept losing interest and didn't like any of the characters. I might try to read it again since this is still quite a popular book. ...more

I thought this book was so fun! The ending I found to be weak, but since it was a creative prequel and we already knew the ending anyways that didn't bother me too much. ...more
