Very interesting. I finished this book a few days ago and have been stewing about what to think…what to write. I liked it based on its originality, cleverness, characters, and readability. Yet, I don’t know if I will pick up any of the others that he has written in the same vein and I can’t put my finger exactly on why not. Admittedly it has been a really long time since I’ve seen the Wizard of Oz, and maybe I would have enjoyed it more upon a re-viewing of the movie. I have been thinking a lot

This book had me mesmerized. It took me a bit to get into the feel and flow of it, but I loved the characters and land of Oz and the backstory to our technicolor understanding of the story of the Wicked Witch. I was fascinated with the character of Elphaba and even though I knew what was coming I was so sad to see her story end. I really wasn't sure I would enjoy this book because I don't do very well with fantasy type literature with made up names and places and creatures (and Creatures LOL) bu
