John Green doesn't disappoint. I wish I had read this book before I read Paper Towns because they were similar, but this book has some great lines in it and was (I think) stronger than Paper Towns overall.

I like reading some YA, but I didn't think this one is as interesting as an adult. I think I would have rated it higher if I read it in high school. Pranks were a big part of the story, and I wasn't into it.

I thought the first half of this book was inappropriate for my son and the second half was REALLY good. Sigh. I'm sure he has read worse, though. Or at least been exposed to it...

Man, John Green sure likes to slap you in the face with reality. What sucks about that is the fact that he makes you care about the characters first, before bringing big fat tragedy into their lives. It effects me, John Green, it really does. So, this book starts out with camaraderie, young love, awkward moments, funny moments, and so on, then bam! Tragedy. Sadness, anguish, depression, blame, anger, sorrow, ugh. It works, though. I was caught up in the story, I felt their pain, I was swept away
