3.5 stars. I hate Mr. Rochester and I hate St. John. Jane is rad and is true to herself. I liked the first third of the book the most and the middle the least.
Some of my favorite things:
-Jane is hilariously practical. The most no-nonsense protagonist of all.
-How often characters tell each other that they're not all that good looking. LOL
-Physiognomy obsessions are hilarious. "His head was a very pleasing shape," etc etc etc
-Holy cats, germ theory wasn't a thing yet. Vapors and ill-winds actuall ...more

I think I may have liked the story more if it wasn't so hard to read. I just think in general I may not be cut out for the classics. There were so many words I was unfamiliar with that it often made it hard to understand the dialogue ...more

I think I can safely say that Jane Eyre has become my favorite novel...I absolutely loved it!!!
