Went out on a limb a bit with this debut novel and first of a trilogy categorized as fantasy. Found myself lured into the medieval Russian woods by spirits of lore with a story reminiscent of classic fairy tales.

A wonderfully lyrical book - looking forward to the next one!

This was a DNF book. I didn’t think the writing was bad, but the style was just not up my alley. This is the second Russian style book I have tried to read and neither one resonated with me and I couldn’t get into them. For me it was dark and gloomy.
