Gone Girl is a book that will surprise you, keep you guessing and perhaps leave you feeling a bit unsettled at the end of it all. It's the story of Nick and Amy - two people with ordinary names who turn out to be anything but ordinary. This is a book where no one is who they seem, where every secret is a lie, where seemingly inconsequential details turn into major plot twists. Gone Girl is certainly a thriller - a very well done one.

I didn't see what was coming and even at the very end, there was room for more surprises, which I find impressive. the whole thing was crazy - but the actual possibility of having to live life the way the final events indicated was real enough to leave me genuinely troubled.

The star system is misleading. I hated this book. I hated these characters. But I couldn't stop reading it. It is either the worst thing ever written or the most clever.
