I loved this memoir, which was dark and scary in the places it needed to be. It was truly genre-bending--some of the chapters felt like poems, others were parables, others still examples of scholarship on queer partner abuse. I'm now glad I chose this book for our book group next month and am looking forward to that discussion. I also liked it so much I bought a copy.

Oof. Lived up to the hype. A memoir, in short fragments and some longer essay-type pieces, but with a clear narrative structure and unforgettable voice. A memoir of partner violence, by a queer woman. Powerful. Will be reading it again.
