Ok, so this is the first book I've ever read from Gaiman and I have to ask myself - What in the world was I waiting for?
Neil Gaiman is Jim Butcher good. Neil Gaiman is Joss Whedon good. For those of you who don't know who these two men are A) shame on you and B) this means that Neil Gaiman is FABULOUS! I now have to set about reading everything he's every written - as if I don't have enough books to read already. OY!

American Gods was certainly an achievement, an imaginitive masterpiece deserving all the praise rained on it. And while I enjoyed it, I feel Anansi Boys has taken that concept and gone to the next level. Here, Gaiman retains the imaginative brilliance he showed in Gods, but adds touches of humor befitting Anansi the trickster's story tradition. The combination makes the book feel just as rich but brighter than its predecessor.

I read the first two-thirds of this book, and then was distracted by something else. I liked it well enough, but boviously not well enough to get me to pick it up again.
I borrowed this book from my mom, so I should finish it and give it back. But I'll have to start over from the beginning at this point, and I don't know if I'm up for that.
Also, Mr. Nancy was a black dude in American Gods, which makes sense. Since he's from Africa. Were the Nancys black dudes in this book too, and I just didn't ...more

a slow start; populated by not so likable characters, but they grew on me nonetheless. I think I enjoyed American Gods more.
