Wow, this put me through the wringer. So much raw emotion, so much intense grief. It brought up so many complicated feelings about my own parents deaths. Definitely recommended, but if you have lost someone, it will rip your heart out all over again.

There was a such a long time between when I decided to read this and when I actually did that I forgot what it was about. I thought it was more about family and food, but it was mostly about the death of her mom. Kinda tough to read in places. I didn't realize til the end that Michelle is Japanese Breakfast. I just recently found her music, which is why I probably thought I should read the book. Not bad, but darker than I was looking for on a day off read.
