An unusual book in which you are never quite sure what is happening and things aren't really explained. You are left to work things out with hints and context, much like Klara is.
I had an idea about the 'portrait' early on, which proved to be correct, though I am glad it wasn't fully realised. There seemed to be a bit of building up to nothing and the end comes quickly, leaving more questions than answers. ...more
