Book Riot Read Harder 2021: a book of investigative fiction by an author of color.
This book should be read by everyone. The concept of this book, that America has a caste system just as India and Nazi Germany, isn't a shock (I mean, *I* wasn't surprised at the premise...ick, how sad is that?), but reading the *how* this caste system has evolved and *continues* to persist is harrowing, to say the least. Minus one star for the author's writing style, which wasn't my bag, and that the American cast ...more
