Put this book off forever, too many people had recommended it. Finally picked it up and I'm glad I did. It was a fascinating look into a world and culture that I know nothing about. Engrossing and compelling.

When I got halfway, I was pretty sure I had finished the original audio book...obviously I wasn't listening very closely.

I found the writing style awkward and hokey, and the scenes of child rape were gratuitous and disturbing. This book came to me highly recommended, and perhaps I dislike it because it didn't meet my expectations.

This was hard to get into, and I don't recommend listening to it, but I found that by the end it really affected me, (It helped that there was actual action as opposed to just background wetting!)

I enjoyed this book but found it to be slightly overrated, perhaps my expectations were too high. Nevertheless, it's a sensitive portrayal of some controversial topics.
