This is a frustrating and heartbreaking look into poverty and housing, centered around the things that can cause, and be caused by, eviction. The author follows several people - landlords and tenants - living in Milwaukee, and looks carefully at the far-reaching effects of eviction, which go well beyond the obvious.

Thought provoking non-fiction book about eviction and housing stress for the urban poor. This ethnographic look at blacks and white in Milwaukee during 2008-2009 was fascinating and moving. Highly recommended.

Update 4/10/17: Pulitzer winner for nonfiction! Adding to my audiobook queue.
