No rating from me because I don't listen to a lot audiobooks, and the minute I started this one, I realized that doing this one on audio was a mistake since I like doing things while listening to books: cooking, cleaning, etc. This book requires focus (for me anyway!), and I couldn't give it the appropriate focus on audio. I wish I'd read a physical copy to grasp more of it, but here we are.

This was a good read. I think if I read it four more times, I might actually remember some of it. My favorite fact was that quarks are named from Finnegan's Wake. That's kinda cool.

A fairly quick read. Felt that it was a book meant to be dip in and out of.
3.5 stars. My enjoyment varied chapter to chapter (The shape of the universe? cooooolllll. How elements are named? Meh.), but it is a good, fast, engaging summary of the current state of astrophysics and how we got here. Recommended!
It really was a nice, quick overview of the field. I appreciate the range of humor, cosmic spirituality, and humanism.
