I enjoyed this book much more than I thought I would. I hesitated to start reading it even though everyone raved about it. It is about a woman grieving her recently dead father. I didn't want to read that. But really, it isn't just a book about that. It is a book about falconry- wonderful, fanciful world. It is about a woman channeling her grief into a project. A testament to Macdonald's love for her dad, powers of observation, and keen brain. I particularly loved the way she wove T.H. White's story into her own.
