A new crime series based in India. In this book the action moves from Bombay to Calcutta between 1917 and 1921. Perveen Mistry is the first female attorney in India having been educated in the law at Cambridge. There's a lot of period information about some of the religious cultures as well as on the role of women in society and the home. ...more

Very interesting mystery that also provides a look at late British India. Really liked the main character.
