How did it take me so long to finally read this?

I’ve had a paperback copy probably since my late teens and it’s travelled with me from apartment to apartment, city to city, across oceans and continents, all throughout my life.

Thirty years later, prompted by a book club choice - that I didn’t actually end up attending (doh) - I finally stuck to it.

What a book!

Well, this was a great book, and I would consider it a classic or modern classic. But I would have gotten much more out of it if it was assigned as part of a literature class.
