Shelves: audiobook, poc-author-2018

I can't recommend the audio version of this enough. The book is plenty personal as-is, but having Haddish tell you the unbelievable stories that make up her life herself adds another dimension to this book. (ALSO THERE IS A SONG AT THE END.)
The structure is a little rough, but what makes this book shine is how honestly Haddish stares down the ugliest, most horrible parts of her life. There is course humor in this as well, but overall, readers will walk away from this impressed by the triumph of ...more
