This book was way deeper than the flyleaf would tell you, which was both a positive (I really felt for the characters in a way I did not expect) and negative (I have zero patience for people who can't get their lives together - GET YOUR LIFE TOGETHER). Overall, though, this was a great book and a peek into a lifestyle/occupation that I know very little about. And I love the thought that your soulmate might not be someone you meet and marry. I loved this book. It's a slow burn but it burns hot. It's so rare to see women artists portrayed like their male counterparts: messy, ambitious, hurt, and talented. Seeing Sharon and Mel succeed AND self-destruct AND be celebrated for it warmed my heart. Their friendship felt true and really unique on a lot of levels. If you're not afraid of drug use or bodily functions, this book is so worth reading.
