Her Body & Other Parties is collection of short stories. These stories are dark, feminist works of magical realism. There is lots of sex going on in here. As I usually find to be the case, some of these stories spoke to me more than others. The SVU one in particular just didn't do it for me. ...more

What is worse: being locked outside of your own mind, or being locked inside of it?

What is worse: writing a trope or being one? What about being more than one?



Wow. This is an incredibly powerful collection, with fierce feminist undertones, overtones, and other tones, but it’s also very sad.

Try to read this book without listening to the wind oustide, without running your finger along your lips, feeling their dryness and then wetting them, without anxiously awaiting talking to the first person you know who's read this just to say, "My god the ribbon the ribbon the ribbon."
