4.5 stars. It took me over two weeks to read the first half of this book and an afternoon to finally finish it. Keeping up with the characters was a challenge at the really slow pace I started (most often, books on my Kindle are the few pages I read just before I fall asleep), especially since I'd forgotten most of what I learned of Greek mythology (I read the Iliad and the Odyssey in 10th grade ... 40 years ago!) Based on Achilles from Greek mythology. Told from patroclus’s point of view. It’s pretty okay. They’re lovers and it’s cute.

An inter reimagining

This is a rich and interesting re-imagining of the Achilles myth. Steeped in the original myths, it has been reshaped into a moving tragic love story.

Gorgeous prose. I’m not a big mythology person, but could appreciate this retelling.
