"Tell me." I loved it when he was like this.
"I'm going to be the first." He took my palm and held it to his. "Swear it."
"Why me?"
"Because you're the reason. Swear it."

I don’t think I loved it as much as some people... it had a bit of a YA feel to me... but ultimately very entertaining.

This is my second time reading Song of Achilles. I generally don’t reread books, but I’m sure I’ll revisit this novel many more times. My pandemic brain needed to revisit a story I know well—I love the Greek myths—and can just fall into. What a beautiful version of the Iliad.

If I hadn’t read Circe first I think this book would’ve blown me away. I love that both books give life to characters overlooked in mythology. It’s a great read, but it didn’t grab me like Circe.

A clever retelling of the Iliad from the perspective of Patroclus. Quick, fun, escapist read.
