A wonderful retelling of the story of Patroclus and Achilles and what brings them to the gates of Troy. Agamemnon comes off even worse here than in the Iliad itself...what a creep. Patroclus' back-story is inventively created yet feels true to the Greek originals. It probably helps if you've read the original, but if you haven't, you'll be able to follow the story here and just might be inspired to read Homer.

Loved this. I tend to like back stories and retellings of legends anyway, so this was double good. Telling The Iliad from the POV of Patroclus was an interesting twist.
