An excellent read with a slow start
This book was gorgeous. The characters were compelling and fully drawn, such that I felt that I knew them all. The setting was so realistic that I literally felt cold while I read this book. I didn't want it to end, but when it did end, there was such beautiful payoff that entirely closed the door on this book while leaving the windows open for what is to come.
The only problem was, I almost didn't get there because the first 100 or so pages were so much slower ...more

Talvez tivesse demasiadas expectativas e por isso tenha ficado algo aquém.
Começa de forma lenta, apresentando este mundo e as suas personagens, e vai crescendo de ritmo, mas de repente parece que se precipita tudo, a situação fica resolvida e é como se a montanha tivesse parido um rato.
Gostei da construção da atmosfera e das personagens, ainda que uma ou outra que me pareceram interessantes deixassem de fazer parte da narrativa , e, apesar do que escrevi, gostei do final, acho que faz sentido. P ...more

A beautiful and engrossing fairytale, perfect for reading while curled up in a soft blanket with a mug of tea. If it's snowing, all the better.
