This is a beautiful and unique novel about the refugee experience. It tells the story of Nadia and Saeed, two young people from an unnamed country on the brink of civil unrest. Just as they are getting to know each other, their country is taken over by militants and their safety is called into question. Nadia ends up moving in with Saeed and his father and as the situation becomes more and more dire, the young couple starts to hear rumors about doors that will allow them to escape.
