Okay. Where should I start? Honestly I expected more on this book. I love Special Topics (Marisha Pessl) and so many people recommended this book when they know about my feeling toward Pessl's book. But turned out, it's too much lagging for my taste - big language and too serious convos, even though there are several great jokes and witty characters inside (I love Francis the most, he's so comical). This has been a cult classic since it was written in 1992, and let’s just say…I’m not part of the cult. I can appreciate Tartt’s writing and the atmosphere she created, which made me excited about my upcoming trip to Vermont. There were sections that had me eagerly turning pages to find out what happened, but those were interspersed with sections in which nothing was happening and it felt like a slog. I was captivated by these characters, but only as a group and in their college setting. Apart, they lost their mystery. I still can't decide if they are brilliant and charming, or drunk sociopaths. Either way, I liked them.
