What Members Thought

Although I do not typically like dystopian novels, I absolutely loved this work. I had been wanting to read it for years and when the Hulu series came out, I decided that I had to read it before watching. It is of course, eerily similar to many GOP tactics of the day, which makes it all the more terrifying. I love the ambiguous ending and the "historical notes" at the end are perhaps my favorite part of the whole novel. I can't wait to watch the series now!

I'm kinda tired of reading books that I'm supposed to like, but that I hate. I've wanted to read Margaret Atwood for a while, so when this was picked for Nashville's city-wide read, I was excited. However, I felt like I was 2 steps behind everyone the whole time. Also, I intensely dislike books that are misogynistic.
