4.5 stars. I'm still processing... but already thinking about the next Margaret Atwood book I'll read. What impressed me most about this - apart from Claire Danes' narration which was awesome - was Atwood's use of language. words. I want to read another one of her books soon.

Finally read this "modern classic" and I'm glad I did. It's not a pleasant read, but it's engrossing and terrifying. Plenty of food for thought about reproductive rights, freedom, and desire here.

I read this book YEARS ago, probably in the early '90s. I want to reread it before the Hulu series comes out!
update 3/2017: I listened to the audio version, read by Claire Danes. She does an amazing job, and I forgot how good (and how chilling) this story is. Can't wait to see the Hulu version! ...more
