Beautiful writing and a nice mix of science and memoir. Both parts are equally enjoyable and enlightening. I recommend this book even if you think this type of book isn't in your wheelhouse.

I loved this book from the very beginning, when Hope shows the reader how easy it is to be a scientist. The story is about the work of science and about a soul finding her way in a painful world. Hope Jahren's intelligence, her heart, her love for the world, simply shine through.
