Wow. It felt like it took me forever to read this book. Looking at the date I started it on my Kindle, I'm surprised -- I would have guessed it was six weeks ago, but it was only a month. I guess that just goes to show you.

This was the June pick for one of my book clubs, which is doing (loosely interpreted) classics this year. I'd read this before but didn't remember much about it, and now I know why. I almost certainly lost interest partway through, but continued reading without really paying attention. This is very very long, and about halfway through I'd had enough. I finished it, only because it was for book club.
