A fabulous memoir. I agree with another reviewer who wrote that this book is almost a love letter to Trevor Noah's amazing mother. The audio book was especially wonderful not only because Noah is very adept at imitating any accent, he is also a polyglot--meaning he speaks six languages fluently plus conversational German, and he reads parts of the book in the different languages (always followed by the English translation).

Love this man, loved listening to his book on CD. What an amazing life. His voice is an important one. Full-on crush on this man. A gem.

Trevor Noah is impressive as a person and a storyteller. He has grown on me as the daily show host, but now I see him on another level and I appreciate his style and perspective so much more. 100% worth reading even if you are neutral about him. There is much to learn from his first-hand account of growing up under apartide as a literal outcast and the unique perspective it gave him on race issues.
