Thanks to both Emmalita and Mrs. Julien (of Cannonball Reads) for their passionate reviews of this book that led me to track it down. Thanks to Interlibrary Loan, I have a yellowing copy from 1993 with some seriously sappy back cover art but that did not dampen my enjoyment of this 1926 gem.

Loved this book! It was delightful. I think one of my favorites by LMM.

The beginning was slow, and I felt sure I wasn’t going to like this book. But then it got so much better and was a lovely read.

I think I would have loved this book 15 years ago and I am so happy I read it regardless because it reminded me of the person I once was: an eager virgin with a library card.
An annual reread for me.
